Ne’sha , (Soul/Hip Hop/R&B songwriter and re-cording artist) South Carolina native has literally exploded on to the Southern music scene in 2010 with her single “Voodoo”. The singer/songwriter musical strong suit has grown an intense loyal fanbase responsible for her astounding internet buzz.This South Carolina native, Recording Artist, Songwriter, and Performer has established a reputation for herself in her hometown of Bennettsville as being touted the Carolina Songbird” or “The Voice”.
Nesha isn’t a stranger to the music industry; she has been a fixture on the R&B scene since the age of 12. Born in Bennettsville, South Carolina, she began moving people with her soulful voice singing around the house, local talent shows, and opening shows for prominent organizations such as, the South Carolina Black Caucus, The NAACP and the SC State Senators Convention. Summer of 2004, Nesha journey began when she was introduced to manager Cheryl Butler (former A&R of Qwest Records), through a mutual friend of her father’s. That summer Nesha moved to NYC and was placed in a group called Rain.
Rain, the all-girl trio was fortunate enough to grace the ears of many record executives, but soon disbanded due to the personal reasons of one of the other members. Thereafter, she began working extensively with Vincent Herbert of Black Ground Records (former label of R&B singer Aayliah). Vincent Herbert loved Nesha’s material and was working extensively with her, when a tragedy struck that would leave Nesha fighting for her life forcing her to leave the music scene and move back to her hometown.
In 2010, Nesha returned back to the music scene joining forces with
K-Figz Music Group. A production company spearheaded by Tim “Krazy Figz” Walls. This music partnership advanced Nesha music journey completely eleven original songs and a music video. Nesha’s vocal versatility is showcased through songs anchored in R&B, but infused with Pop music. In 2010, she released her first single Voodoo produced by Tim "Kfigz" Walls, the song hit the airwaves gaining notoriety and enormous radio spins throughout the Carolina’s. It was voted the most requested song on the Homegrown Cipher in her region (WYNN 106.3FM), and also gaining spins on (Coast 97.3, The Flo 102.9, Power 99.3, & Foxy 99.1).
Since then she has released her second single in 2013, Handle It, a club song (released independently) is currently receiving spins and have been added in rotation on International Radio station and mix shows throughout the Southeast US achieving great success in both North & South Carolina.“Nesha” is currently in the studio with Producer/DJ Skazz Digga (Big Daddy Tour DJ) cooking up the tracks that will appear on her upcoming EP due out later this year.
She is pouring everything she has into this album, which she says will incorporate her love for soul, R&B, Soul, hip hop, soul artist, but I want to bring some rawness and urban flavor to the table,” Ne”Sha says. “I’m really inspired by artists like Mary J Blige, Monica, Lil Mo, Whitney Houston and Chaka Kan. They are strong women with a unique point of view who have something substantial to say. I want to be able to address real issues in my songs, but still keep it sounding fun. I’m looking forward to everyone hearing what I can do.
With one street album under her belt, media features Next2Shine.com, Youknowigotsoul.com, Nervedjs.com, Coast2Coast.com, The Konnected Magazine, rnbjunkies.com,Vents Magazine.com) to name a few, seven independent music awards, 13 nominations and performed over 100 shows opening up for Carl Thomas, Musqi Soulchild, August Alsina, Big Daddy Kane, Omarion, Case, Ginuwine, Anthony Hamilton, Fantasia, Tank, Verse Simmons, KC & JoJo, Anthony David, Yolanda Adams and many other notable venues.
